This Da Hong Pao varietal has a reddish copper appearance, and the aroma of wet rock or sweet tobacco. For whatever reason, it's common for this varietal to not have a very good first infusion, so don't judge this book by it's cover! The second infusion more than makes up for the first after the leaves start to really open up. The taste is reminiscent of stonefruit, smoked plum, minerality, and a sweet lingering taste of dark chocolate at the end.
