This aged Oolong Tea has opened up nicely with time. Yan Gui Xiang is a unique varietal grown in the Zhen Yan area of Wu Yi. It refers to the innermost protected area of the Wu Yi Heritage site. It is a protected area separate from the scenic area that outsiders are not permitted in. It is grown at an altitude of about 425 meters up, and has been growing there for over 100 years.
The mineral taste of the Zheng Yan area is superbly present in this tea, and with a medium processing level of roast over two weeks, leaves it with a silky, sweet, roasted taste. The tea soup is a warm, vibrant crimson red to almost a copper color, with a mineral aroma very present.
